Register to Invest in Ethiopia 2026
The Ethiopian Investment Commissioner, Dr. Zeleke Temesgen, the State Minister of Finance, W/ro Semereta Sewasew, and the representative of development partners, the World Bank Director for Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, and South Sudan, Maryam Salim, jointly held a press conference regarding the fourth Invest in Ethiopia Forum, which will be held on March 26 & 27 2026.
During the press conference, Commissioner Dr. Zeleke Temesgen indicated that Ethiopia is currently ranked second in Africa in terms of foreign direct investment inflow. He explained that the Invest in Ethiopia Forum is part of the ongoing efforts to make Ethiopia a premier investment destination in Africa.
The Commissioner recalled that the third Invest in Ethiopia Forum, held last year, saw participation from over 58 countries, and during that time, investment agreements worth over 1.6 billion US dollars were signed with five major companies. He stated that these companies with which agreements were signed have now fully commenced operations.
It is anticipated that new investment deals estimated at over 2.4 billion US dollars will be signed during this year’s 4th Invest in Ethiopia Forum, jointly organized by the Ethiopian Investment Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and development partners. They stated that the forum will see the participation of prominent international investors, high-level policymakers, and leaders from the investment sector.
Dr. Zeleke Temesgen affirmed that Ethiopia is more investment-friendly and ready than ever before and called upon the media and all stakeholders to play their necessary professional role for the success of the platform.
State Minister of Finance, W/ro Semereta Sewasew, on her part, stated that the platform will be where Ethiopia confirms its readiness for any international investment. The state minister also explained that the forum will create a crucial opportunity to showcase to the international community the extensive economic reform works the government is undertaking to create a conducive business environment.
The representative of development partners, Maryam Salim, stated that the Invest in Ethiopia Forum is evidence demonstrating the tangible results that can be achieved when the government, development partners, and the private sector work collaboratively. Furthermore, she explained that the forum plays a critical role in showcasing Ethiopia’s investment opportunities, fostering strong investment partnerships, and building confidence among investors.
